The Leadership, Excellence and Diversity (LEAD) scholarship was established in 2016 and is maintained by funds from external donors. The scholarship provides $8000 per year for up to five years to help with living and study expenses, as well as a dedicated academic mentor and a non-residential membership of a UQ college in first year. Non-residential memberships include services such as college meals, events, use of recreational facilities, internal courses and a strong collegiate network during the transition from high school to university.
The LEAD Scholarship is more than just a financial leg up.
“By connecting us with people who are also recipients of the LEAD Scholarship – as well as Faculty members who reach out and care for your wellbeing both personally and academically – those are the tools that are vital to do your best and excel here at UQ Law”
- Michelle O’Grady, UQ Law LEAD Scholar
