The choice of activity undertaken will be dependent on your academic background. For example, someone undertaking the development of sensing materials or determining methods for chemical hazard remediation should have a background in chemistry, with a particular focus on organic chemistry. A candidate with a physics or chemistry background would be likely to have the required knowledge to undertake spectroscopic and/or physical chemistry studies. A student with a mathematics, particularly statistic background would be best placed for data analytics research.
You will demonstrate academic achievement in the field/s of chemistry, physics or mathematics and the potential for scholastic success.
