Eligibility:

You're eligible if you:

are an undergraduate student who is, or intends to be, a resident at The Women’s College
are a domestic student in the year of award
are enrolled, or intend to enrol, in any bachelor's program in the year of the award
are able to demonstrate financial hardship.

Selection criteria:

We'll consider:

financial hardship;
community service; and
demonstrated leadership.

About this scholarship:

This scholarship was established in 2021 by The Women’s College in partnership with Alumni Friends, under the Create Change Scholarship Match Initiative, to honour Dr Maureen Aitken, who had a significant influence in the life of The Women’s College, serving as Principal from 1991-2008.

Dr Aitken held a BA with First Class Honours In French Language and Literature, a Postgraduate Diploma In Education and a PhD from The University of Queensland. She gave opportunity and encouragement to countless students by believing that confident and creative women can shape a better future. The annual distributions of the endowment support students experiencing financial hardship with the cost of residential fees at The Women’s College.
