Trinity College offers a range of competitive graduate funds (often referred to as studentships or bursaries) to students wishing to study at the University of Cambridge. Only applicants who have applied to the University of Cambridge for admission as graduate students are eligible to apply for these awards. Without confirmation that the applicant has applied to the University for admission, the studentship/bursary application will not be considered. Applicants wishing to be considered for the External Research Studentships and the TCA Bursaries in Economics and Finance, are advised to indicate Trinity as the College of first preference on their application to the University.
Applications for most Trinity College studentships and bursaries are submitted using an online application system. You will be asked to provide information about the course to which you have applied for admission to the University of Cambridge, including your application number. You will also be asked for the details of two referees, previous academic qualifications and other supporting documentation (including copies of official transcripts and research proposals, as applicable). The online system for submission of Trinity College Graduate Studentships applications will open in October 2018. The closing date for all online applications is 12:00 noon (GMT) Friday 11 January 2019.
You will be asked to enter your email address and to create a password.
You will be asked to enter your contact details, information about your previous qualifications and the course for which you are applying at the University of Cambridge. You will need to provide the 8-digit Application Number allocated to your University Application (beginning with 10) before being able to submit your Trinity funding application. Please note that you will only be sent this 8-digit number through the University’s application system 24 – 48 hours after you have submitted your University Application.
You must provide the names and contact details, including email addresses, for two referees acquainted with your academic work and whom you have asked to send assessments of your academic standing. Referees will be required to upload references (in pdf format) to our secure online application system. Please make it clear to your referees what is needed and encourage them to submit their references as soon as possible.
You will need to upload requested supporting documents including a copy of your University Application Form, official transcripts/statements and any research proposals which may be required for certain studentships/bursaries. Please note that you will need to merge all supporting documents into a single pdf file to complete the upload successfully.
You may continue to edit your application until the point of submission. Once you are happy that you have entered and uploaded all the relevant information, please submit your application. References can continue to be received after you have submitted your application until the deadline on 11 January 2019.
It is the responsibility of applicants to ensure that their application is completed by the deadline. Please allow for unexpected problems and submit your materials in good time. Late applications will not be accepted and applications will not be deemed complete until all parts of the application have been submitted, including references. Completed applications and all supporting documents must be submitted online by 12:00 noon (GMT) on Friday 11 January 2019. Receipt of applications will be acknowledged by email.
