Agile Projects as Dynamic Capability

One of the most important developments in project management is Agile. Almost without exception, agile projects are praised for delivering better products and a smoother project management process. Professional project management organizations, such as IPMA and PMI are all integrating agile into their standards and also organizations are embracing agile methodologies such as Scrum as the solution to various issues they experience with the project. However, agile is also overhyped and quickly misunderstood. An agile approach can, if the conditions are fitting, have great benefits, but it is not a recipe for success.

Organizations and project management professionals need to understand when and in what context agile approaches are effective and should be able to implement agility in their process when that makes sense.

It is this competence that the course Agility in Project Management addresses. In the course, questions such as What is agility? What are the agile approaches? What is the difference between Agile, Scrum and other methodologies? What are success factors for an Agile approach? And what are the fail factors? are discussed and the participants are equipped with the understanding of how to integrate agility in projects and project management.
