The US Embassy in Algeria offers a competitive funding grant to help establish partnerships to promote and enrich joint US-Algerian exchanges. The grant committee of the United States Embassy in Algeria will consider project proposals on a competitive basis, evaluate and determine the winner. This financial grant is renewable throughout FY2019 and is available in three phases (seasons).

Areas of Proposed Projects:


The grant aims at the participation of citizens and the promotion and development of issues of public concern. Here are some examples of projects that can apply for the grant:

  • The English Language and Entrepreneurship Program supports young Algerians with limited resources to become leaders of the future in the global economy.
  • Work to integrate marginalized groups or individuals into communities.
  • Promote community cohesion and tolerance.
  • Provide viable alternatives to reduce the criminal or extremist activity of vulnerable or vulnerable groups.
  • Supporting the work of Algerian civil society organizations within the framework of the Algerian-American joint interest.
  • Promote and empower persons with disabilities as well as ethnic or gender minorities.
  • Expanding the cultural and educational exchange offered to the wider public in Algeria - with a special focus on young people, women, and marginalized communities - for an in-depth understanding of the United States and common values between the two countries.

Grant Amount:


The grant amount ranges from a minimum of $ 5,000 to a maximum of $ 10,000 per project.

Financial Grant Terms:

 

  1. This grant is available to individuals or companies alike.
  2. Proposals must be submitted in English only as directed by SAG10019GR0001.

How to apply


For funding, your project proposals should be sent to Algiers_grants@state.gov

The Grants Committee of the United States Embassy in Algeria will review applications on a competitive basis and within a time frame of one year, in three phases.
The deadlines for submission of applications at each stage are as follows: Phase I: February 1, 2019; Phase II: May 1, 2019. Phase III is on 1 August 2019.
