Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. They support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. We believe in the power and potential of every child and in gender equality. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls and young women who are most affected.  The organisation is active in over 80 countries across the world.

The purpose and ambition of Plan International EU Office is to advance children’s rights, equality for girls and youth in particular in the EU’s external action. In line with Plan International’s Global Strategy, One Million Reasons, and the EU Office’s 5-year strategy, they will contribute to ensuring that 100 million girls learn, lead, decide and thrive. Plan International works with the EU in its three roles as a donor, policy-maker and promoter of human rights.

The Plan International EU Office is the Global Account Manager for EU development cooperation (DevCo) on behalf of the Plan International family. As such, they work together with 11 European national organisations of Plan International and their 53 programme countries around the world. The EU Partnership Manager oversees the fundraising process and the engagement strategy with the EU, focusing primarily on DevCo. Her/His role is to maximise the funding potential for Plan International as a whole and to influence the EU regarding Plan International’s priorities and approaches. She/He is responsible for ensuring that there is a coherent and well-managed approach to the EU, presenting a “One Plan International” face to the donor. This position is designed to ensure that Plan International is effective and efficient in its fundraising (and influencing) with the EU Institutions, and that it has effective and contractually compliant systems and processes to deliver any programme and manage any contract.

The successful candidate will balance excellent organisational and coordination skills with strong interpersonal communication in a multicultural context, and the ability to plan and implement under their own initiative. They will share Plan International’s Purpose and Values.
