Al-Jazeera English channel has a vacancy for an Assistant Program Editor, at its headquarters in Doha.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Minimum Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Media, Communication or other related fields.
  2. 5 years in an international newsroom.
  3. Knowledge in Current Affairs.
  4. Knowledge in global issues.
  5. Knowledge in TV production and technology.
  6. Must have excellent writing and video editing skills. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Assists the Program Editor in producing and putting news to air. 
  2. Assigns stories to producers.
  3. Checks copy, video and all segments of the bulletins.
  4. Must be meticulous in checking on-screen graphics and straps.
  5. Must ensure all news stories are up-to-date, accurate and formatted correctly. 
  6. Liaise with the News desk, correspondents, producers, and presenters.
