The Golden Turtle Competition invites artists all over the world to participate in its 2020 session. This competition is an important part of the Golden Turtle Festival. the Golden Turtle Festival is the largest international cultural and environmental event held in Russia, bringing together photographers, designers, and artists to celebrate the beauty of wildlife.

Competition Categories:

The competition consists of three categories:

Photo: It consists of the following categories:

  • The animal in the environment.
  • The portrait of the animal.
  • Animal behavior.
  • Art and nature’s image.
  • The underwater world.
  • Microcosm.
  • Landscape.
  • Magic of planet.
  • Human and nature.
  • Reserved Russia.
  • New technologies in wildlife photography.
  • Nature through the eyes of youth: The applicant's age is between 13 and 17 years old. 
  • Nature through the eyes of children: The age of the child between two to 12 years.

ECO-Posters:

  • Ecological problems.
  • Conservation of wild nature.

Art:

  • The portrait of the animal.
  • Animals in the wild.

Prizes:

Photo:

  • The competition winner in the Photographer of the Year nomination will obtain a cash prize of two thousand US dollars (USD 2,000).
  • The competition winners who won first place in their nomination will obtain a cash prize of one thousand US dollars (USD 1,000).
  • The laureates who won the second and the third places in their nomination will obtain valuable prizes and gifts from the Festival sponsors and partners.

  • The competition winners who won first place in their nomination will obtain a cash prize of one thousand US dollars (USD 1,000).
  • The laureates who won the second and the third places in their nomination will obtain valuable prizes and gifts from the Festival sponsors and partners.

Art:

  • The competition winners who won first place in their nomination will obtain a cash prize of one thousand US dollars (USD 1,000).
  • The laureates who won the second and the third places in their nomination will obtain valuable prizes and gifts from the Festival sponsors and partners.

Competition Rules:

  • Anyone from any country can submit his/her works to participate in the competition, except for the competition organizers and the professional jury members. 
  • The official competition languages are Russian and English.
  • Author (artist) shall mean a person who created the artwork and presents his/her work to the competition, has full copyrights and powers to decide on all organizational issues related to the participation of the work in the competition.
  • Work shall mean an artistic canvas created by various techniques of fine art, complying with the competition conditions and owned by the author.
  • The work must be made by hand by the author from the beginning to the end, with the exclusion of any and all mechanical, digital or photomechanical processes.
  • The submitted works must meet the following technical requirements:
    • The work shall be submitted in digital form by scanning or accurate re-photographing of man-made works;
    • The image format shall be JPEG;
    • The dimensions shall be 2,000 pixels horizontally for horizontal works; 2,000 pixels vertically for vertical works; 
    • The file size shall be no more than 1 MB.
  • The author shall provide the following information on his/her work:
    • Author's name.
    • The idea behind the project and depicted animals/nature objects containing no less than 200 symbols.
  • The author may submit to the competition no more than 20 works.
  • One work may be presented in one nomination only.

Note (1): All works whose description contains foul language will not be accepted.

Note (2): The competition organizers reserve the right not to accept any works that are not of a certain qualitative and technical level, without specifying a reason.

About Golden Turtle:

Golden Turtle is a festival free of geographical restrictions. This gives space for creativity to photographers of the participants of the Festival. Therefore, the Golden Turtle is a new degree of freedom. Freedom to find yourself through the development of the world of wildlife in all its diversity.
