The Salto Youth Network invites youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, and youth policymakers to participate in the VALUE FAIR 2020 organized by Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (Greek National Agency).

About the Conference:

VALUE FAIR 2020, with 110 participants, supports actors in the field of youth work in order to share, understand and define the values upon which youth work is based, understanding and exploring values through Non-Formal Education (NFE). It aims to eliminate mistrust among widespread citizens in a society that leads to discrimination and rejection of others.

Conference Topics:

The conference focuses on how the following values: participation, sustainability, empathy, inclusion, and equity, are approached, translated, promoted and transmitted. VALUE FAIR 2020 is open to/involve the local community, to enhance mutual learning and to enlarge the impact as such.

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must be from one of the following countries: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria or Tunisia.

Conference Objectives:

To explore and exchange how we understand these values.
To question the place of these values in our agenda and daily life.
To critically reflect upon why and how youth workers/leaders support these values towards young people.
To understand and promote how Non-Formal Education (NFE) can support these values.
To highlight the current challenges related to these 5 values.
To explore how to maximize the impact of these values on individual/organizational/community level.
To stimulate concrete networking in order to create qualitative future international projects, also within the Erasmus+ / Youth in Action Programme.

Duration and Location of the Conference:

The conference will be held in Athens, Greece, between the 1st and the 5th of April 2020.

Funding:

All costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAS or SALTO involved in this project except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country.

Note: Your sending National Agency will support your travel costs. After being selected, please contact your NA to learn more about how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.

About SALTO-YOUTH

SALTO-YOUTH is a network of six Resource Centers working on European priority areas within the youth field. As part of the European Commission's Training Strategy, SALTO-YOUTH provides non-formal learning resources for youth workers and youth leaders and organizes training and contact-making activities to support organizations and National Agencies ( NAs) within the frame of the European Commission's Erasmus+ Youth program and beyond.
