Mercy Corps is looking for a Human Resources Officer to start an exciting job opportunity with the team in Yemen for 2020. 

Responsibilities: 

Recruitments and selections:

  1. A primary focal point for all recruitments in all Mercy Corps Yemen Offices through the HCM.
  2. Make sure all recruitments are in line with the Mercy Corps Yemen Policy and the HCM guidelines.
  3. Ensure constant update of the HCM system ATS and ensure timely and fast recruitments.
  4. Ensure the recruitment tracker is updated on a regular basis.

Leave Tracking:

  1. Focal Point for all staff leave tracking and ensure the leave tracking database are accurate (annual, sick,
  2. Update the leave tracker on a monthly basis and share the leave balances with the head of departments by the 05th of each month.
  3. Follow up on staff outstanding leave balances and communicate to Head of Departments and HRM.
  4. Follow up with Head of Departments to develop quarterly leave plans for their teams and ensure staff takes their leaves accordingly.
  5. Report to the HRM any leave discrepancies and/or issues on staff leaves immediately.

Performance Reviews:

  1. Follow up on staff annual performance reviews in the CO and provide support to other HR teams as needed.
  2. Set reviews tracker and follow up with managers to carry out the performance review for their supervisee.
  3. Keep an updated tracker for staff performance review due date.

Knowledge and experience required:

  1. University degree in HR, business administration or related field.
  2. Minimum of two to three years’ experience in human resources management with an international humanitarian organizations.
  3. Have previous experience in managing HR systems.
  4. Highly experienced with recruitment processes.
  5. High level of integrity and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  6. Ability to multi-task and deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion.
  7. Good understanding of human resource reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
  8. Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
  9. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Excel is a must.
  10. Fluency written and spoken in English and Arabic
  11. The candidate must be able to follow guidelines and reinforce organizational policies with all staff members, including senior and international staff.
  12. A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team in a stressful environment.
  13. Detail-oriented.
  14. Excellent skills in problem-solving and a results-oriented approach to HR management.
