IRC offers a part time job opportunity in Lebanon to work as an English trainer-Aley in Beirut, Lebanon. The need for an English and business etiquette training was equally requested by several job seekers of the IRC’s livelihoods center, and especially by employers who see it as a requirement in the market and not as an option. By the end of this training, participants will acquire the essential soft skills needed in the workplace. 

Your Responsibilities:

By the end of the 84 training hours, trainees should be able to

  • Engage in basic oral and written English communication and acquire competence in grammatical structures and business vocabulary.
  • Understand the main idea of a simple English text.
  • Understand the proper etiquette and format in emails.
  • Follow proper telephone etiquette: professionalism and effectiveness in taking messages, re-directing and following up calls.
  • Apply listening techniques for improved understanding and deal with difficult callers.
  • Develop a positive attitude and interpersonal skills

 The training provider is not expected to exactly match the below contents, but rather work on developing a curriculum and a training methodology that will enable trainees to achieve the following learning outcomes:

  • Revising the alphabet and practicing sounds and spelling.
  • Introducing oneself.
  • Using adjectives, plural of nouns, prepositions of time and place, possessions.
  • Using technical words, phrases and simple sentences related to workplace objects, routines and professions.
  • Asking and answering basic English questions.
  • Differentiating between formal and informal telephone language.
  • Answering and leaving phone messages, redirecting calls.
  • The training should be delivered to 20 male and female trainees over a period of 12 consecutive weeks over a period of 84 hours.
  • The training should take place in the Union of Municipalities of Al Gharb Al Aala and Al Chahar.
  • You should meet the participants before the training and verify the suitability of the selected candidate trainees.
  • You will be entrusted with developing pre- and post-test questionnaires to determine the level of knowledge and skills of  trainees vis-à-vis the English language and business etiquette. 
  • You are expected to ensure the following:
    • Fulfill the entire contract period.
    • You would finalize the training across a period of 12 weeks for a total of 84 training hours.
    • Provide samples of training books/material for distribution.
    • Prepare drop quizzes to be done by trainees on a weekly basis.
    • Deliver a weekly report indicating topics completed, results of drop quizzes, evaluation on participants’ performance.
    • Provide certificate of attendance, based on attendance and learning (measured against pre and post- tests).
