IRC offers a full time job opportunity in Lebanon to work as a case worker in North Beqaa, Lebanon. Two case workers are needed in Zahle as base but covering North Bekaa areas, and one case worker in Aarsal also covering other areas of North Bekaa outside Aarsal. The working environment will be a combination of standard office by 35% and field-based by 65%. You will be responsible for providing direct support and care for high risk cases of persons with specific needs (PwSN), including psychosocial support and case management. The case worker will be supervised by the case management officer to ensure qualitative and effective case management. 

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in counseling.
  • Experience in working with refugee population which is preferred.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of beneficiaries at all times.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
  • Strong team spirit, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed and ability to handle pressure well.
  • Good computer skills like Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good reporting skills.
  • Bachelor or degree in social work, counseling, psychology or other related field.
  • Fluency in Arabic and it's preferred to be able to communicate and write clearly in English.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  1. Identify and receive referrals regarding individuals and families (including carers) with specific needs who are detected during registration and other activities (for example, through refugee outreach volunteers).
  2. Conduct household visits and center-based interviews to assess the needs of individuals and families.
  3. Provide information to individuals and families about their rights and entitlements, including what services are available including beyond the scope of services provided by IRC.
  4. Work with identified individuals and families to develop and implement an action plan in accordance with their needs, capacities and goals.
  5. Assess risk and support individuals and families to understand risks relevant to their situation.
  6. Link individuals and families with support groups and networks, and other community-based resources, as appropriate.
  7. Directly provide psychosocial counseling and support the coordination of provision of services by other specialized service providers in accordance with the needs of individuals and families.
  8. Ensure appropriate monitoring, review and follow up of the services provided to cases.
  9. Ensure complete and updated documentation related to each individual case.
  10. Determine if and when it is appropriate to discontinue follow up to individuals and families (case closure).
  11. Manage, file and store data, ensuring the confidentiality of the information collected and the services provided.
  12. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans in a timely manner for the case management officer’s validation.
  13. Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on problems in the implementation of the program.
  14. Participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality case management and reporting requirements.
  15. Receive cases referred from other agencies following case allocation by the case management officer. 
  16. Lobby on behalf of individuals and families to access services and support individuals and families to effectively represent their views, needs and capacities in all meetings affecting them.
