Orange requires a technical solution architect in API acceleration team in Egypt. The OBS IT department is in charge of decision-making information systems, serving orange business services different line of businesses such as marketing, pre-sales, sales, production, after-sales services, and customer-service for both France and international domains. In this context, the API acceleration program is a new project within OBS IT, aiming at accelerating the internal transformation within the organization. The main aim of the program is to transform the architecture of the existing applications to be more modular with REST APIs, and to provide self-service APIs to the orange business services customers. 

Eligibility:

You must have:

  1. Strong ability to work in a team.
  2. Adept at various technologies.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Time management skills.
  5. Knowledge of backend programming languages (JavaScript/ node.js, etc..).
  6. Experience using advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Angular, ReactJS, etc.
  7. Comfortable with microservices design patterns and cloud design patterns  (implementation).
  8. Linux shell scripting.
  9. Database (SQL server/MySQL/MongoDB/Cassandra).
  10. Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications.
  11. Excellent experience in developing REST API
  12. Project management skills.
  13. Development experience for both mobile and desktop.
  14. Knowledge of code versioning tools (such as GitLab/GitHub)
  15. Experience in using API gateways which is a plus
  16. Good experience in working in agile and DevOps which is a plus.
  17. ITIL foundation knowledge (certificate is a plus).
  18. Ability to put in place a development team (DevOps, Tests etc.…).
  19. B.Sc. in computer science or equivalent.
  20. Be fluent in English, French is a plus.
  21. 8 years’ experience in the IT industry.
  22. From 2 to 5 years’ experience in development activities.

Your Responsibilities:

The architect will be working closely with the technical lead, the SCRUM master managing the project and developers in addition to the product IT delivery manager. In an Agile context, the technical architect is required to undertake the following responsibility:

  • Designing overall architecture of the application.
  • Breaking down large scale projects into manageable chunks.
  • May need to act as a project manager, overseeing assignments that are aimed at improving the business, and ensuring all parts of the project run smoothly. 
  • Collaborate with the development team to design and launch new features.
  • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
