UN Volunteers platform is offering a volunteer opportunity to work with Buy Malawi Strategy, as it is looking for 3 volunteers to help it develop 3 Company websites. These companies are into production of goods and services therefore the targets are potential customers of their products and services.

Buy Malawi Strategy is a government of Malawi initiative, supported by UNDP, aimed at encouraging production and consumption of locally produced goods and services. Visibility of local companies producing in Malawi is one of the aims of the Strategy. A website is therefore one of the tools most companies need to compete locally as well as global.

Volunteer duration and working hours:

6-10 hours per week for overall 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

The volunteer must have at least two years of experience in website development.
Candidates are encouraged to include examples of their previous work in the application.
A degree in IT or related field is considered an asset.
Ability to communicate in English.

Volunteer framework:

The websites should be user and mobile friendly.
Initiative will provide the volunteers with all the necessary content and branding.
It will communicate with volunteers primarily through email.
The volunteer is encouraged to work with others in the team if need be and will closely work with the Communications team in the Buy Malawi Strategy Secretariat and IT staff in the companies.
