UNICEF offers a remote job opportunity to work as a consultancy innovation specialist in capacity and learning. You will coordinate the creation, development and management of core learning, knowledge and experience sharing tools, initiatives and platforms, acting as a central node in UNICEF’s global innovation network. You will work directly with the capacity, Knowledge and learning team lead and under the overall supervision of the senior advisor on innovation.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  1. An advanced university degree in one of the following fields: political sciences or other social sciences, science, technology or humanities.
  2. Extensive work experience relevant to this post may be considered as a replacement for formal qualifications.
  3. A minimum of five years of professional experience. The ideal areas include innovation, creating technical resources for scaling innovations in the UN system or the wider development sector, knowledge sharing, knowledge management and program coordination.
  4. Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with country-level development, innovation and human rights related work.
  5. Fluency in English and knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.
  6. Nurtures, leads and manages people.
  7. Works collaboratively with others.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  • Create and develop learning, knowledge and experience sharing tools, resources, kits, assets and experiences.
  • Develop and maintain an events, outreach and content calendar and a global mailing list for UNICEF’s global innovation network.
  • Facilitate regular webinars and information-sharing sessions, including, potentially, with external guest speakers and participants.
  • Assist in the creation, population and sharing of a regular global innovation network newsletter and ad hoc news updates.
  • Keep abreast of the latest capacity development initiatives taking place across UNICEF, the UN system and among innovation thought and opinion leaders within and outside of the development sector, with an eye on shared learning.
  • Assist senior adviser in brokering connections for shared learning with key partners, including UN agencies, innovation knowledge networks, key businesses, innovation thought and opinion leaders.

Salary:

  1. Monthly payment, based on monthly tasks and progress reports, approved upon monthly review with supervisor.
  2. Consultant is eligible for standard DSA for all work-related travel.
