The Research Program on Children and Adversity (RPCA) at the Boston College School of Social Work (BCSSW) is an applied research program dedicated to improving the evidence base of understanding risk and protective factors influencing mental health, child development, and family functioning as well as intervention research to develop and test behavioral interventions for children and families affected by multiple forms of adversity, including armed conflict, poverty, and infectious disease.

Provide on-the-ground support in Rwanda and long-distance communication with the RPCA, the Program Manager will collaborate with in-country staff and partners to support local teams, field logistics, and day-to-day research team activities to fulfill the scientific aims of the program projects.
Additionally, maintain strong partnerships with community organizations and members to harness an existing in-country advisory board to facilitate culturally-informed adaptations to Sugira Muryangos program including; activities, materials, and messaging centered on father engagement and violence reduction.
Similarly, support the data collection process with a particular focus on father engagement metrics throughout the delivery of the intervention and work closely with postdoctoral fellows and research associates to report regularly on the progress of the project goals and contribute to capacity building at the University of Rwanda.

The RPCA seeks an experienced and highly-motivated Program Manager with relevant field and functional experience. Competitive candidates will possess the following qualifications. Masters in Social Work, Early Childhood Development, Psychology, Public Health, or related field required. A minimum of five years of related experience preferred. Furthermore, supervisory experience and prior international work in a low resource or field setting particularly in sub-Saharan Africa are required. Likewise, the candidate must be able to travel internationally and commit to significant time engaged in fieldwork. Also, demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to perform and collaborate under challenging conditions.
