Food Factory is offering a competition for Master's student enrolled in a food study programme eager to find solutions for valorizing food biodiversity in their country. Students will participate in an innovative, learner-centric environment based on active, action-oriented learning to develop a project including a specific objective/target, the design and development of a solution exploitable at the industry level and with the main aim of contributing to innovation in sustainable food systems as well as quality and safety of foods. 

Terms and Conditions:

  • You have to propose an idea for valorizing food biodiversity in your country
  • Form a  team of 3-5 Master's students, get a faculty mentor
  • present your project proposal (1000 characters) and your team members the latest by 30 September 2020
  • The Advisory Board  will evalute all incoming project proposals for innovation; industry applicability; and social, economic and/or environmental impact. 
  • All accepted student teams will begin working independently on their projects and will participate in a series of
    online trainings.  
  • Deadline for submitting your project report and presentation is 31 January 2021 per email to ssc@iseki-food.net
  • The Advisory Board will evaluate all submitted projects and presentations.
  • At the Final Virtual Conference(to be held in February 2021), all teams will present their projects in an online conference in the presence of industry and multiplayer representatives. 

Award:

  • An award of 300 Euro for the best project
  • Members of the winning team will be invited to the NextFOOD Project Meeting, scheduled for spring 2021 in Bari (IT), where they will give their winning presentation to project partners Economy airfare within Europe, 2 nights accommodation and project dinner will be paid.
  • Each team member of the competition will receive a Certificate of Participation in the FoodFactory-4-Us Sustainable Supply Chain Competition.

 About Food Factory:

The ERASMUS+ Knowledge Alliance project (554312-EPP-1-2014-1-AT-EPPKA2-KA) will establish an independent “EuFooD-STA Center”, a platform with local hubs in different regions, as an organisational frame for international and sustainable collaborations between industry and academia in the food sector. Involved are 7 universities, 3 food companies and 11 multiplier organisations and training providers based in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and UK. The independent “EuFooD-STA Center” will enhance on the one hand innovative education & training for students, targeted towards the needs of the industry and thus increasing their employability and on the other hand innovative continual professional development (CPD) for academic and company staff by facilitating experience exchange.
