The Nancy Jones Travelling Scholarship supports HDR students in the School of Music who are undertaking a music performance research project for the piano, violin, viola and cello and who intend to undertake research travel as part of their HDR project.
Nancy Jones (born 1907) was active in Ipswich as a pianist, accompanist, conductor and teacher for 66 years, until her retirement in 1986. In 1979 she was awarded a British Empire Medal for services to music and the community. The scholarship was established in 1998 by a bequest from the estate of her husband, Raymond Benjamin Jones, to commemorate the name of his late wife.

An applicant is eligible for the award of a scholarship in a year if, in that year, the applicant is:
