Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism invites journalists, educators and education policy researchers to apply for the Spencer Fellowship for Education Journalism. This fellowship supports longform journalism that enhances the public's understanding of the American education system. Four fellows will be selected for one year of academic research at Columbia University, with hands-on advising from education writing experts. Journalism projects must be published after completion.
Each fellow will be awarded a stipend of $75,000 for personal living expenses, plus $7,500 for project expenses.

[3] An outline of a proposed project
[4] A brief essay on proposed areas of research you anticipate pursuing at Columbia University
[5] An essay about an education trend you have observed
[6] At least three letters of recommendation
