Festival de l'Oiseau et de la Nature is inviting all photographers to participate in International Wildbird Photo Competition. Two groups will be allowed to register for this competition and will be judged independently, from 15 to 17 years old and 18 and above. The competition includes the following categories:
[1] Bird in its environment: The photographs submitted in this category must describe the close relationship between the bird and its natural environment, include it in its familiar landscape (examples: diving dipper at the foot of a waterfall, woodpecker hacking a tree)
[2] Fashion design: This category must present bird as a «nature masterpiece» : posture or attitude emphasizing the grace and elegance of the subject, putting forward aesthetic or morphological details
[3] Bird in danger: Photos submitted in this category should illustrate a species on the IUCN Global Red List, regardless of its degree of threat. List available on the IUCN website: iucnredlist.org
[4] Water games: Photographers must submit photos of birds taken during aquatic activities (immersion, swimming,fishing, bathing, watering, etc …) .
[5] Mini-series: The 3 images in this category must tell a story and have a common theme.
[6] Young Photographers category for those under 17 (Wildbird in general)
The winners will receive the following:
[1] A Grand Prize to the overall winner awarded with an amount of €1,500
[2] A 1st Prize in each category awarded with an amount of €800
[3] A 1st Prize for the category «Young Photographers» rewarded by material endowments
[4] A Public Prize awarded to the picture which has totalized the more votes from the visitors of the exhibition, endowed by the Festival’s partners.
Each winner will be invited to the Award Ceremony at the Municipal Theater of Abbeville which will be offered for 2 persons and includes: 1 night hotel with breakfasts, a meal with nominated entrants.
Please note: the entry fee for the category above 18 is €2 per photo and the order of the photos must be indicated in the files names (ex : File-1, File-2, File-3).
