The College invites applications for the Esmée Fairbairn Junior Research Fellowship in Classics, tenable for a fixed period of three years from 1 October 2018. The person appointed will be expected to undertake advanced research in the field of Classics.
Applicants will be expected to have a first degree in a subject area appropriate to the Fellowship, normally at First Class honours level. The person appointed will have completed his or her PhD/DPhil or be in the last year of doctoral work at the time of taking up the post, and may not previously have held a Junior Research Fellowship or comparable appointment of more than two years (excluding breaks for parental/caring leave etc). The Fellowship carries a stipend of £21,644 per annum (subject to review). A Fellow is entitled to a housing allowance (currently £2,025 p.a.) or to live in College accommodation free of charge if suitable rooms are available. In addition, Fellows are entitled to free lunch and dinner at the common table when this is available, a book and research allowance (£1,320 p.a.) and an entertainment allowance (£220 p.a.).
