The conference will commence on June 6 with two days of training workshops, covering introductory and advanced topics in network analysis with applications to political science. These workshops are organized by the Political Networks section of the American Political Science Association and sponsored in large part by the National Science Foundation. Following the workshops, all conference attendees are invited to an evening reception and plenary talk on June 7. Panels will begin on June 8 and conclude after lunch on June 9.
The program chairs and host committee are pleased to invite proposal submissions for the 11th Annual Political Networks Conference and Workshops at George Mason University, June 6-9, 2018.
We seek proposals for individual papers, posters, and organized panels that engage in rigorous theoretical and empirical research on political networks. We also welcome contributions that develop novel methodological approaches to the analysis of political networks. We aim to have a conference that represents research from a broad range of subfields and methodologies, and submissions are encouraged from scholars in political science or related disciplines. Methodological approaches may include, but are not limited to observational designs, laboratory and field experiments, ethnography, formal models, and computer simulations.
To submit an individual paper or poster proposal, please submit a title and abstract of no more than 250 words. Three-paper panels may also be submitted; to do so, please note the title of the panel in each paper submission. A limited number of travel fellowships will be available. Fellowship applications must be submitted concurrently with paper/poster proposals.
Junior faculty and PhD students may apply for fellowships provided by the National Science Foundation. For information about eligibility please visit the fellowships page.
