For over 50 years, Amnesty International have been campaigning for human rights wherever justice, freedom and truth are denied. They have reshaped policies, challenged governments and taken corporations to task. In doing so, they have changed thousands of lives for the better. Join Amnesty International Belgique francophone in Brussels and you will too.

As an Advocacy Officer, you will be responsible for the definition and implementation of Amnesty’s political advocacy strategy for the respect of human rights in Belgium’s policies.

To do so, you will make political advocacy an efficient tool for achieving the campaign objectives set by the French-speaking Belgian section and the international movement. Advocacy will target federal and/or regional governments as well as Belgian representatives on international bodies (UN, Council of Europe, European Union, etc.).

With your knowledge of political decision-making mechanisms and processes, you will help strengthen the capacity, efficiency and impact of the section’s work at the political level.

You will also increase the impact of various Amnesty International’s campaigns by concluding strategic partnerships with key players in the sector.

You will participate in the team’s activities and reflections on Amnesty’s information, advocacy and campaign strategies and will carry out your mission in specific working groups.

With experience of working on human rights issues, you have in-depth knowledge of the socio-political context in Belgium.

Benefits include more than 35 days annual leave (inclusive of public holidays), pension scheme, hospital insurance (DKV), lunch vouchers (8€/day), and other benefits such teleworking, flexible hours, etc. All of this, in a professional, engaging environment.
