Souq Fann is offering an Internship followed by a  job opportunity as a creative Logistics Assistant to work full time within their headquarters in Amman, Jordan. A successful candidate supports the team in the sourcing and production processes by being flexible and eager to make Souq Fann a great success.

Responsibilities:

A successful Logistics Assistant is able to ensure good coordination between the different Souq Fann actors. This includes: 

  • Sourcing Process: Vendor Management 
    • Ensuring agreements are signed with selected vendors and partners to promote their products on the platform 
    • Organizing and controlling the information provided by vendors such as payment data, agreement, ID’s copy  
    • Maintaining strong relationships with vendors and providing them with technical and logistical support 
  • Logistics:
    • Organizing and maintaining Souq Fann warehouse 
    • Ordering and following up with the supply of products or/and any other needed material for the warehouse 
    • Conducting quality assurance on products themselves to ensure customer satisfaction 
    • Managing documents (vouchers, invoices) and money transactions (cheques, cash) 
    • Coordinating with the shipping process between Souq Fann warehouse and the delivery place 
    • Following up with customers to ensure the delivery of the product(s) and their satisfaction 
    • Researching and dealing with different kinds of actors such as shipping companies, suppliers 
  • Systems Management:
    • Managing and updating the inventory database as well as the sourcing database when necessary 
    • Managing orders on SouqFann.com and coordination with technical when needed 
    • Helping to manage budgets 
  • Overall Platform Development:
    • Contributing to the overall sales and marketing strategy of the platform 
    • Representing Souq Fann to vendors and other stakeholders when appropriate 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Performing well in this position requires: 

  • Excellent paperwork and financial management skills 
  •  Excellent command of Excel and any additional program(s) for inventory management 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with many different types of people 
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships with a diverse vendor community from throughout Jordan 
  • Accuracy with information management, especially inventory database and budget 
  • An appreciation of Jordan’s artistic and handicraft sector, and an understanding of relevant cultural and economic factors 
  • Unwavering attention to detail and drive to succeed 
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of normal working hours 
  • Ability to learn and analyze new and conflicting information quickly and effectively 

A successful candidate will also have the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in good standing from an accredited university 
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the fields of logistics, finance, administration, project management, retail purchasing, or similar 
  • Fluency English and Arabic 
  • Experience with website management is preferred
  • Eligible to work in Jordan 
  • Committed to Souq Fann’s mission and vision

 This position is available immediately. The successful candidate will sign a one-year contract, including a three-month probationary period as an intern.
