Salzburg Global Seminar is an independent non-profit organization founded in 1947 to challenge current and future leaders to shape a better world.

Salzburg Global Seminar offers a number of three-month internship programs (non-accredited), which allow interns to not only enhance their skills and knowledge, but also access its impressive network of Salzburg Global Fellows.

Each internship lasts for three months with start dates in January, April, July and September. Preferred internships start dates vary from the type of chosen internship program in the online application form. All Internships are scheduled for three months, starting from your date of arrival.

Interns are housed in the Intern Apartment in the Meierhof, located right beside Schloss Leopoldskron.

Those programs are:

COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP

An integral part of a small but busy communications team, this internship is perfect for a recent journalism school graduate who is passionate about telling stories that capture our programs’ impact.

DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

Based in Salzburg, Austria but working closely also with colleagues in Washington, DC, USA, this internship is perfect for a recent graduate who wants to gain experience in both fundraising and program delivery at a nonprofit organization.

LIBRARY INTERNSHIP

Working in the historic Max Reinhardt Library at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria, this internship is for a highly organized, self-motivated recent library science graduate who is up to the challenge of managing a small collection and supporting staff research.

PROGRAM INTERNSHIP

Based in Salzburg, Austria, this internship is perfect for a self-motivated and pro-active recent or soon-to-be graduate who wants to gain experience in program delivery, from event planning and preparation to implementation, at a nonprofit organization.

All applications will be reviewed after the application period has closed on October 31. All applicants will be informed of the status of their application by November 30. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to take part in a Skype interview and a short writing exercise. All candidates, successful or otherwise, will be informed of the outcome of their application.

The different roles and responsibilities of an Intern will vary depending on the specific Internship. Please see the Internship descriptions for more information on the additional specific requirements for each Internship.

All Interns are responsible for working with all staff members to support upcoming sessions and Salzburg Global’s program activities in general.

The successful candidate will be provided with free on-site accommodation at Schloss Leopoldskron, all meals and a return ticket for their country of origin, as well as excellent networking opportunities with the international participants of Salzburg Global Seminar programs.
