Swiss cities consistently rank among the best places to live in the world, with particularly high scores for personal safety, natural beauty, infrastructure and income potential.

Here is a full list (yes, a full list !) of scholarships in Switzerland:

1. Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are fully funded scholarships. These Switzerland scholarships for International Students are open to more than 180 countries to study at master or doctorate level.

Program launch date: early August 2021,

Application submission to embassies : September-December 2021.

2. ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarships

This is a master scholarship in one of the best universities in Switzerland. The ETH Zurich scholarships is a fully funded program for international students.

3. Scholarships from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne EPFL

EPFL offers a number of master level scholarships to students with exceptional academic results. Anyone applying for an EPFL master’s program is eligible

Scheduled opening date: from mid-November to December 15, 2021, and from December 16 to April 15, 2022.

4. Excellence scholarships from the University of Lausanne UNIL

The UNIL Master scholarships are excellence scholarships intended exclusively for foreign students with very high academic results. The UNIL awards around ten scholarships per year.

5. Master of excellence scholarships from the University of Geneva UNIGE

The Faculty of Sciences of the University of Geneva, with the support of external partners, has established a program of master’s scholarships of excellence open to exceptional and highly motivated foreign students who want to pursue a Master. The merit scholarship consists of an amount of CHF 10,000.- to CHF 15,000.- per year.

6. Geneva Academy scholarships

The Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights offers partial and full scholarships for the LLM in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, as well as full scholarships for the Master of Advanced Studies in Transitional Justice, human rights and the rule of law.

Partial scholarships cover tuition fees. Full scholarships cover tuition and living expenses in Geneva for 10 months.

7. St. Gallen University Excellence Scholarships

The University has two scholarship programs: the University of St. Gallen Excellence Scholarships and the Starr International Foundation Scholarship Fund for Masters students.

Excellence scholarships are awarded to foreign students (without Swiss maturity) enrolled in a Bachelor at the University of St. Gallen on the basis of merit.

The International Starr Foundation Scholarship Fund is reserved for highly talented international students with a recognized foreign bachelor’s degree who are completing a master’s degree in one of the programs taught in the English language.

8. IMD Business School scholarships in Lausanne

IMD (International Institute for Management Development) is committed to fostering the growth of diversity through our merit and need-based MBA scholarships, which are awarded to candidates who have applied and accepted an offer to join the IMD MBA program.

9. Funding from the University of Basel

The University of Basel has its own fund to help students with very limited resources and from low-income families. The funds are awarded mainly in the form of partial scholarships during the final phase of the degree (BA / MA) and range from CHF 200 to CHF 2,500 per person per month.

Aristotle College offers several family income scholarships, which are awarded by a limited number of external donors and which cover part of the College’s annual fees.

11. Les Roches Institute scholarship program

Les Roches offers a limited number of scholarships and financial aid to students. The scholarships are intended to help motivated applicants in their studies in hospitality. The Alfred Werner Foundation grants scholarships to students to carry out master’s studies in chemistry or biochemistry at a Swiss university or at one of the federal polytechnics. Forté scholarships are prestigious and competitive awards that are recognized within the business school community and beyond.

14. The Stewart Hamilton scholarships for women

The scholarship was created to honor Professor Stewart Hamilton. The scholarship has been generously increased from CHF 20,000 to CHF 50,000 per year. The scholarship is offered to women admitted to MBA at IMD

16. Hilti IMD Scholarship

The Hilti Fellowship for Women will award recipients CHF 25K for their IMD MBA tuition fees and is aimed at women engineers who aspire to leadership roles in the construction field. In addition to providing a financial component, the scholarship will provide recipients with mentoring and networking opportunities through Hilti’s extensive global network.
