The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) is offering a great job opportunity to work as an Assistant Field Officer in Jordan Municipal Support Project (JMSP) Department. The Assistant shall Provide administrative and operational support for the project. S/he shall provide support to all project’s aspect and work in close coordination with field officers, in particular in the following areas of work; communication with partner municipalities, coordinate and work on logistics, facilitate the work of Canadian volunteers, technical specialists and maintain a good relationship with all field partners. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to the project, including planning and organizing of field activities as required by the project.
  2. Provide administrative and operational support for the project.
  3. Obtain, analyze, and review offers to provide recommendations to management for the procurement of goods.
  4. Prepare purchase orders and send order requests to suppliers.
  5. Follow up on invoices, updating trackers, filing, and organizing documents for payment processing.
  6. Monitors the use of workstation supplies and updates files as required.
  7. Provide assistance to the project partners in the field to ensure their effective participation in the field activities.
  8. Arranges logistical and support services in support of the field activities.
  9. Acts as a point of contact for the visits of the staff to the field. 
  10. Assist in the coordination of the field activities.
  11. Develop a rapport with the project’s partners to ensure smooth and efficient project activities.
  12. Makes recommendations to the Deputy Director to improve the activities.
  13. Support field officers and the project’s teams in training programs.
  14. Assist in facilitating the work of the Canadian volunteers.
  15. Maintains close coordination with the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer.
  16. Contributes to the monitoring efforts of the project activities and contributes to the annual workplans and progress reports.
  17. Maintains close coordination with the technical specialists and provides information on issues that may affect their work.
  18. Assist field officers in the coordination of the project.

Eligibility Requirements: 

  1. University Degree in a relevant field.
  2. Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in the implementation and management projects, ideally related to municipal development. 
  3. Candidate must be good team player with strong organizational skills.
  4. Experience related to social inclusion/gender equality is desirable.
  5. Good knowledge and technical experience in sustainable community development. 
  6. Experience working with a non-profit organization or international organization. 
  7. Good written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English.
  8. Applicant must be residents of one of the southern governorates, preferable Wadi Musa residents.
  9. Ability to travel within the Southern and Center parts of Jordan.
