Schneider Go Green Competition for the Middle East and Africa is now open. Schneider Electric is leading the Digital Transformation of Energy Management and Automation and is always on the lookout for bold ideas that can shape the future of Schneider Electric and the whole industry.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Only university students eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of submission of the Initial Application are permitted to submit their proposals.
  2. Students worldwide must be registered in a bachelor’s (at least the 2nd year), master’s or MBA program of business or engineering to be eligible to compete in the Contest.
  3. The team should be of two members from anywhere in the world. At least one team member must be a woman.
  4. You must be studying Engineering, Business, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics and other Sciences.
  5. Team members must be studying in the same Region for the duration of the competition. They are not, however, required to be from the same university, nor are they required to study the same subject or be in the same year, as long as they are not in the first year of their undergraduate education
  6. The students are not required to be permanent residents or nationals of the country in which they are studying in order to compete.
  7. Should an individual student Entrant be disqualified, that Entrant’s team will no longer be able to participate.
  8. You must be proficient in English (the Grand Finale pitch will be presented in English).

The Competition Categories:

  1. Sustainability & Access to Energy: Schneider Electric believes that energy is a basic human right. Today nearly 1.3 billion people lack access to modern energy. Schneider Electric is looking for ideas that can help to solve the energy dilemma with digitized and innovative business models and/or sustainable approaches that enable access to energy or sustainable developments.
  2. Buildings of the Future: The age of smart and efficient buildings is now. Schneider Electric offers an IoT-enabled architecture and platform that enables the clients to create buildings that are, regardless of size or use, more energy-efficient, sustainable and occupant friendly.
  3. Plants of the Future: many plants and machine builders face multiple challenges in the marketplace with seismic disruptions from new types of competitors, market uncertainty rapid fluctuations in demand. Digital transformation delivered through can make manufacturers more agile, helping them to adapt more quickly to their fast-changing environment.
  4. Grids of the Future: By 2040, there will be a 58% increase in global energy demand. Schneider Electric is looking for solutions that enable the world to meet this demand and also meet the needs of our planet’s well-being.

Competition Phases:

  • The Contest is organized in three steps, with each step followed by a period of review, assessment, and selection that will move onto the next stage in the competition.
  1. Phase I – Submission of the Initial Application.
  2. Phase II – Semi-finals.
  3. Phase III – The Final Round will run until the final presentations in June 2020.
  • The final award will be announced by the jury upon the conclusion of the Final presentations during June 2020.

Application:

  • You must register for the competition as an individual. However, to submit a full application you must also register as a team of two.
  • Accepted formats for the initial application: Text description: .doc or pdf format, max. 500 words, 12-size Arial or Times New Roman font, file size max. 15 MB. Infographic: ppt or pdf format, max. 10 slides/pages including 1 cover slide, file size max. 15 MB
  • Participation form only is submitted online for each team member on an individual basis.
  • All persons involved in the preparation of the Initial Application shall be identified below. Any Initial Application submitted without such form being duly shall be disqualified and discarded and will not be reviewed by Schneider Electric.
