The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) at the University of Edinburgh, UK, invites scholars who have received their Ph.D. in any field of art, humanities, and social sciences to apply for a post-doctoral IASH fellowship. The Institute was established in 1969 by the then Faculty of Arts to promote inquiry of the highest standards in the Humanities, broadly conceived.

Fellows must work at the Institute during the fellowship period and contribute fully to the life of the Institute during that time. Fellows give at least one seminar presentation during their tenure and submit a report on their research at the end of their Fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must have a Ph.D. at the time of application or during the last three years in any area of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
An applicant must not hold a permanent position at a university.
An applicant should not have a previous Fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities.
If the applicant has taken parental leave or other time away from academia, this will not count towards the three-year limit, but he should provide brief details of why and for how long he was not working.

Benefits:

Research visit at the University of Edinburgh for three to ten months.
A bursary of up to a maximum of £13,000.
