Connect her invites you to participate in the girls' impact on the world film festival, which presented by it. This event is considered a film festival and scholarship program in which high school and undergraduate college students submit 3-6 minute short films that focus on a variety of global women's issues, including maternal health, microfinance initiatives, child-marriage, sex-trafficking, poverty alleviation, etc. Your films should tell stories about girls and women that raise awareness, and propose solutions, all the while providing the young adult voice an outlet in a compelling medium.

Eligibility:

  • This competition is available for students enrolled in high school or undergraduate programs. If chosen as a finalist, the participant must provide proof of enrollment at their school/university. (Special circumstances may be considered for youth who are not in school.) 
  • Filmmakers mustn't be more than 25 years old by the submission date of January 20, 2020.
  • You can enter up to two films as long as they address two separate topics.
  • Films must be 3 to 6 minutes long.
  • They must focus on a Girls Impact the World topic and/or propose solutions to one critical challenge within that topic.
  • Your film must be an original film that doesn't contain any copyrighted material.
  • Actors may be non-students.
  • Powerpoints will not be accepted.
  • Entries must be original films that have not yet been submitted to other film festivals.
  • The Girls Impact the World Film Festival reserves the right to deny any submission at its discretion.

Prizes:

  1. Winners will receive a monetary prize and film distribution channels via Connecther. 
  2. An official screening and Red Carpet will take place in Austin, TX on Sunday, April 12, 2020.
