AJ+ is offering a job opportunity as a producer to join the team of a new, exciting travel/culture/news show at AJ+. The ideal candidate would be experienced in digital video and can introduce new ideas to the table while working on a variety of different tasks throughout the production process. The Producer should be comfortable finding and casting stories in domestic and foreign locations, executing shoots, monitoring/recording sound, and managing deliverables (call sheets, releases, etc.). The Producer should also be experienced working with editors in Premiere and should be comfortable guiding an edit.

Responsibilities:

Consistently pitch and develop new ideas for episodes of the show.
Write compelling scripts and treatments.
Monitor and record sound during shoots.
Work closely with the Senior Producer and Host to prepare and execute shoots.
Work with an editor and guide an edit in Premiere.
Consistently bring creative ideas to the edit.
Willingness to travel to locations for stories.
Contribute to conversations around editorial and creative ideas in meetings and discussions.
Assess new information and react quickly to editorial developments.
Carry out duties in line with Al Jazeera editorial guidelines and ethics.
Ability to shoot is a plus, but not required.
Perform other duties as requested.

Required Skills:

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent non-linear video editing.
Preference for candidates who have experience producing content for digital platforms (YouTube, Facebook and Instagram).
Outstanding ability to write and copy edit.
To have a broad understanding of current global news, trends and issues.
Excellent editorial judgment of global issues.
A passion and commitment to the Al Jazeera spirit of journalism.
Strong understanding of social media networks and online video consumption and audiences.
To carry out duties in line with editorial guidelines and ethics of Al Jazeera.
Ability to work under tight pressure and deadlines.
