Disney company presents it's ESPN social content production internship for summer 2020 in Bristol, Connecticut, United States.

Job Summary:

The social content team in conjunction with studio and remote operations creates, produces and edits digital livestreams and shows on ESPN's platforms and social media networks.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Experience in sports media, preferably in television production, or involvement with collegiate TV station.
  • Elite knowledge of sports, including current athletes, rules and events.
  • Familiarity with server-based media and/or non linear editing equipment including but not limited to Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and Avid.
  • High level of familiarity with ESPN programming, platforms and studio shows.
  • Possess strong writing and copyediting skills in addition to creative, out of the box thinking and solid news judgment.
  • Elite knowledge of social media, including a mastery of trends and verbiage on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat
  • Historical knowledge of US sports.
  • Experience with editing, screening, logging and/or archiving video.
  • Experience with Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with sports media landscape, including knowledge of business trends and technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional role, organization or activity.
  • Enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship.

You also must:

  • Be enrolled in a college or university taking at least one class in the semester prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney college program or Disney professional internship. 
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Housing: This internship is based in Bristol, CT. A limited amount of housing assistance may be available for those who qualify.
  • Interns will work 40 hours per week and must be fully available throughout the internship.
  • Provide own transportation to/from work.

Your Responsibilities:

If you are accepted at this internship, You will be responsible of:

  1. Identify content opportunities to produce for all social platforms.
  2. Use new technologies and data platforms to influence content decisions.
  3. Assist in the daily reporting of big projects and successes from day.
  4. Edit show segments using Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Quantel.
  5. Help pilot and outline new shows or segments for the social content team.
  6. Use Photoshop to create images for posting on various social media platforms.
  7. Work with producers and production assistants to understand the strategies behind posting on ESPN social platforms.
