Disney company announces it's ESPN event marketing internship for summer 2020 in New York, United States.

Job Summary:

The event marketing department hosts clients and employees at unique experiential events surrounding major sporting events. These events include ESPYS, super bowl, college football playoff national championship game, and X Games. It also coordinates corporate meetings, executive dinners, and conferences. At each event it produces, it looks to showcase the different properties within ESPN and Disney by using new technology, creating exciting activations that deliver data, and designing on-brand experiences for clients, staff, and sponsors. Ultimately, their team is involved with the planning of about 80 cross-departmental events throughout the year.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Fundamental administrative and office knowledge.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
  • Understanding of ESPN brands.
  • Strong professional and personal ethics.
  • Detail orientation.
  • Ability to communicate comfortably and professionally with talent and executives.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to complete any task no matter how small or large.
  • The ideal candidate is hard-working, positive and resourceful with outstanding organizational skills who work well in a team environment.
  • Enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship.

You also must:

  • Be enrolled in a college or university taking at least one class in the semester prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney college program or Disney professional internship. 
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Housing: This internship is located in New York, participants in this internship must provide their own housing.
  • Interns will work 40 hours per week and must be fully available throughout the internship.
  • Provide own transportation to/from work.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  1. Assist in ordering merchandise and branded gifts.
  2. Research event-related venues and décor ideas.
  3. Industry research, specifically technology trends.
  4. Coordinate printed material and branded event collateral for onsite execution.
  5. Manage supply box for all events.
  6. Organize premiums and branded gifts.
  7. Communicate with a variety of different teams internally.
  8. Provide support with ESPYS ticket management.
  9. Create and manage the executive briefing book for summer events.
  10. Assisting primarily with the summer events which may include ESPYS, sports humanitarian awards, XGames, NBA summer league, and essence festival.
