Walt Disney Company offers an internship opportunity at Pixar Animation Studios in California, USA. The intern will work as an animation specialist.

Pixar Animation Studios is an Academy Award-winning film studio with world-renowned technical, creative and production capabilities in the art of computer animation. It has created some of the most successful and beloved animated films of all time, including “Toy Story,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “Cars,” “The Incredibles,” and “Ratatouille”. Its movies have won 35 Academy Awards® and have grossed more than $13 billion at the worldwide box office to date.

Responsibilities:

Work with Tech Leads to assess, diagnose and fix technical issues specific to the character rigs being used by character animators in production.
Ensure that the result functions in accordance with performance specifications including, were applicable, user interface and robustness.
Provide technical support to character animators.
Maintain and improve completed results.
Produce author-related documentation.

Required Qualifications:

Programming experience in C/C++ and/or a scripting language such as Python.
Desire to work in a collaborative, fluid environment with tasks that frequently change.
Well-developed communication skills allowing for smooth, results-oriented interactions with different personalities and levels of capability.
A basic sense of aesthetics and understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, lighting, texture, and form.
Familiarity with 3D software packages such as Houdini, Maya, Katana, RenderMan, etc.
Experience in Unix/Linux systems.

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must be a Bachelor’s, Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Digital Art or a related field. If you have already graduated but are within the first year since your graduation at the start of the internship, you are also eligible to apply.
Are available to work full-time Mon-Fri for 12-weeks between June 2020 – Aug 2020.
