The European Youth Portal offers a volunteer opportunity under the title "Enhancement of local heritage and promotion of European citizenship". It aims to increase interest and awareness of natural and built heritage, which also vehicles social connections and to promote interculturality.

The volunteer will work with a team of four French volunteers under the supervision of the coordinator in organizing and participating summer work camps in Brittany and Pays de la Loire regions in France.

Funding:

  • Food allowance and pocket money each month. 
  • Single room in a house of volunteers, in Rennes. 
  • During the summer, the volunteer will live with the European volunteers in the workcamps.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant should be between 18 and 30 years old.
  • Motivated to live an intense experience in terms of activities, encounters, and discoveries. 
  • Curious to learn and to meet the others, to live a collective experience.
  • Active, open-minded, dynamic, ready to animate the group of volunteers coming from different countries and capable to build connections within the group and with the locals.
  • Physical ability and interest in doing outside work. 
  • Knowledge of basic English and French recommended.

Duration:

The program runs for 39 weeks between 16 March 2020 to 18 December 2020.

The European Youth Portal:

The European Youth Portal is a multi-lingual website addressing young people in Europe and providing access to youth-related European and national information. The aim of the European Youth Portal is to provide young people aged 13 to 30 across Europe with information and opportunities around a wide range of topics based on the EU Youth Strategy, including education, employment, participation, culture, social inclusion, health, mobility, and volunteering. One of its major strengths is that this content is provided at European and national levels through a partnership between the European Commission and Eurodesk, and is available in up to 27 different languages, covering 33 countries.
