Ahliyyah School for Girls & Bishop's School for Boys offers a job opportunity for a junior English teacher for the primary years program in Amman, Jordan. You must have from 1 to 8 years of experience.

Eligibility:

You must:

  • Have a university degree in English language or any other related field.
  • Be fluent in the English language.
  • Have a PYP experience.
  • Have computer skills at a level that permits the creative use of technology in the classroom.
  • Be able to prepare reports, worksheets and deliver oral presentations.
  • Have strong service orientation, flexibility, and understanding of different school stakeholders’ needs.
  • Have presentation skills and the ability to speak in public in confidence.
  • Have excellent planning, coordinating, organizing and analyzing abilities.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with teachers at all levels in a multicultural environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • The main role of the English teacher is based on implementing and teaching the primary students according to the international baccalaureate curriculum. The following bullets briefly explain the main duties and responsibilities of the job that is not limited to:
  1. Create appropriate learning engagements and creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.
  2. Motivate students to perform at their best through differentiated instructions and using a variety of styles.
  3. Collaborating with other teachers to contribute to students’ success.
  4. Monitor students’ performance to enhance their understanding and master skills.
  5. Monitor students’ progress through effective assessment.
  6. Communicate regularly and constructively with students and parents.
  7. Use teaching methods engaging students, stimulating intellectual curiosity including the use of effective questioning, presentation, and resources.
  8. Set high expectations for student’s behavior, establishing and maintaining a good standard of behavior management through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.
  9. Any other duties as assigned.
