United Nations (UN) is offering a Job opportunity to work as Programme Management Assistant in Switzerland. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing general office assistance; responds to complex information requests and inquiries, reviews, logs and routes incoming correspondence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides assistance to the Section on staffing/recruitment and other human resources related tasks;
  2. Compiles, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on specific programmes/project and related topics or issues;
  3. Reviews budget revisions as relates to staffing/recruitment; verifies availability of funds
  4.  Serves as focal point for administrative coordination, e.g. recruitment and appointment of personnel, travel arrangements, training/study tours, authorization of payments, disbursement of funds, procurement of equipment and services, etc.;
  5. Provides administrative assistance on recruitment implementation activities, processes and follows up on administrative actions via INSPIRA, screening and evaluation of applicants, preparation of interviews and reports;
  6. Provides general office assistance; responds to complex information requests and inquiries, reviews, logs and routes incoming correspondence; sets up and maintains electronic
  7. organizes meetings, workshops; handles routine administrative tasks, such as maintaining attendance records, assessing telephone billing, etc
  8. Formats official reports to the Human Rights Council (HRC) and General Assembly (GA) in accordance with internal guidelines
  9. Processes, monitors and follows up requests for budgetary, financial, personnel and other administrative actions, ensuring timeliness and correctness of submissions prepared by staff;
  10. Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff;
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Eligibility:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: 
  1. At least five (5) years of administrative experience, programme or project administration, technical cooperation or related area is required.
  2. Preferably three (3) years within the United Nations is desirable.
  3. Experience working on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Umoja is desirable.
  4. Experience with the United Nations rules and procedures relating to staffing and recruitment and other human resource matters is an advantage.
  • Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Knowledge of Arabic are desirable.
