Erasmus Intern offers a fantastic internship opportunity for English Speaking individuals to work as a Teacher Assistant from 3 to 9 months at schools in France. 

Location:

These schools are located in south Brittany in the area of Blain (10 000 inhabitants), in LoireAtlantique, 50 minutes away from Nantes by car and 1 hour by bus, 45 minutes from Saint-Nazaire and the Atlantic Coast.

The Schools:

These are a group of five Catholic schools: a medium and student-centered secondary school (580 pupils – age 11 to 15) together with four primary schools (ages 3 to 11). The intern will mostly work in the primary and secondary school of Saint Laurent with a possibility of a couple of hours per week in 4 other establishments. The secondary school Saint-Laurent in Blain has two exchange programs with Oldenburg in Holstein (Germany, since 2011) and Paterna, Valencia (Spain, since 2016).

Intern's Mission:

  • The intern will assist the teacher in charge of the language lessons. 
  • He will help the teacher to create new supports and activities and he will also lead small conversation groups. 
  • The objective of this internship is mainly to improve the students' speaking and listening skills. 
  • In secondary school, some conversation classes in small groups might be set up outside the classroom activities and the intern might get the opportunity to visit & work with other secondary schools. 
  • The intern may also have the opportunity to teach English/Spanish/German to primary and secondary teachers who are eager to improve their skills in English/Spanish/German. 
  • The intern will also help to organize cultural activities for International Week in the school and may supervise outdoor activities. 
  • These schools are looking for independent, active and self-sufficient people ready to help the kids become more tolerant, open-minded and aware of the diverse cultures all over the world.

Benefits:

  • A free accommodation next to the secondary school will be provided to the Erasmus + assistant. It is a fully furnished one-bedroom flat of 45m² which includes a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room.
  • Free monthly ticket for the bus network Lila will also be offered by the school. 
  • The intern will have lunch for free at the school canteen 4 days per week.
  • And if the intern needs a bicycle, the school will be more than happy to provide one.

Terms of the Internship:

  • No remuneration according to « loi n°2014-788 du 10 juillet 2014 » and « décret n°2014-1420 du 27 November 2014 » 
  • 18 hours max with pupils per week – 4 o 5 days per week 
  • Days off: Saturday, Sunday 
  • Holidays according to French School Calendar: -2 weeks All Saints Day, -2 weeks Christmas, -2 weeks February, -2 weeks Spring Break.
