Ooredoo requires a full time engineer in unified communications and fast Telco subsidiary of Ooredoo Kuwait. In this job, You will be a resource for unified communications departments to handle new voice installations, trouble tickets, support and maintain voice infrastructure.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  1. Bachelor degree preferably in computer science, engineering or related field.
  2. Experience in technical environment with hands-on experience in VOIP technologies in medium to large environments.
  3. Transferable residency with a driving license.
  4. CCNA collaboration which is a must.
  5. CCNP collaboration which is a plus.
  6. Worked on Cisco call manager, voice gateways or other PBX related experience.
  7. Knowledge of SIP, H.323, MGCP and other voice related protocols.
  8. Install, repair and maintains Cisco types of IP telephony systems, including adds, moves and changes of installed telephone services.
  9. CCNA and other IP/Network certifications will be considered as priority.
  10. Knowledge of basic switching and routing equipment and protocols.
  11. Knowledge of basic ethernet.
  12. Knowledge of IP addressing scheme, subnetting and how to assign/deploy.
  13. Knowledge of DHCP and understanding of how it works.
  14. Knowledge of VOIP equipment and concepts.
  15. Knowledge of telecommunications equipment operations and maintenance and installation.
  16. Knowledge of PBX, and IP telephony systems

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  • Implement call manager and unified communication system (Multi-Vendor but with main focus to Cisco, Xontel and TELES platforms). 
  • Handle system activities and service activation/deactivation requests.
  • Keep records of changes in customers assets/DIDs and documenting the changes.
  • Provide training for customers on call manager operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Follow up with vendors.
  • Respond to TT’s on a timely manner.
  • Respond to FT clients technical issues and voice related complaints and assist customer to close it (Remotely/Onsite).
  • Acting as a 2nd level support for NOC team for VOICE related issues.
  • Open cases and follow up with vendors where applicable.
  • Visit customer premises to fix technical issue that can’t be fixed remotely.
  • Adhere to signed maintenance support contract with customers in terms of scope, support visits count and SLA.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, assess networking requirements and provide solutions.
  • Monitors and identifies capacity, quality and performances issues for VOIP traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telephony systems.
  • Handle migration activities to new VOICE platforms.
  • Perform the periodic routine systems health checks.
  • Perform a periodic configuration backups for all voice systems configurations.
  • Test and assure the availability/redundancy functionality of different voice systems.
  • Testing new HW/services.
  • Attend technical meeting with existing and potential FT clients to discuss the technicalities of new solutions.
