The United Nations (UN) is offering the Information Systems and Communication Technology internship to final-year students and graduates to join the team in Beirut, Lebanon for 2021. 

Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background; the intern’s assigned office as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Provide general support to the Office of the Chief.
  2. Provide general support to the Communication team.
  3. Support IT Help Desk and asset management team.
  4. Assist with business analysis for software applications.
  5. Provide assistance in the design of websites.
  6. Performing data analysis and write reports.
  7. Perform other duties are required.

Communication

  1. Speaks and writes clearly and effectively.
  2. Listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others and responds appropriately.

Education:

  1. Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  2. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent).
  3. Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation.
  4. Be computer literate, especially in Word and Excel. 
  5. Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  6. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Languages:

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this post, fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
