Candidates are invited to apply for the NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship for International Students. Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST) and Nanjing Municipal Government (NMG) have jointly set up the Nanjing Municipal Government-Nanjing University of Science & Technology Joint Scholarship (NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship) for outstanding international students.

These Nanjing Scholarships are offered to support international students willing to undertake studies at Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree level.

The NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship aims to enhance international exchange and attract more outstanding international students to study at Nanjing University of Science and Technology in China.

  • Host institution: Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST), China.

  • Duration : 2.5 or 4 years.

NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship Benefits

Nanjing University of Science and Technology NMG-NJUST Scholarship will provide following benefits to selected candidates:

Undergraduate scholarship:

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Quota: 100.
    • Type A (40): full tuition wavier, comprehensive medical insurance
    • Type B (30): 50% tuition wavier, comprehensive medical insurance
    • Type C (30): on campus accommodation waiver, comprehensive medical insurance.

Master scholarship:

  • Duration: 2.5 years
  • Tuition waiver
  • Partial Accommodation waiver of 7 500 RMB / Year
  • Medical insurance
  • Monthly stipend (1 500 RMB / Month)
  • Quota: 50.

PhD scholarship:

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Tuition waiver
  • Partial on campus accommodation waiver of 7 500 RMB / Year
  • Medical insurance
  • Monthly stipend (2 500 RMB / Month)
  • Quota: 50.

NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship Eligibility

To apply for the Nanjing NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship, applicants must meet following criteria:

  • The applicants must be from non-Chinese nationalities, in good health and having an amicable attitude toward China;
  • Applicants must meet requirements of the degree program they intend to study;
  • Each scholarship recipient will be granted with no more than one scholarship.

Application instructions

Eligible applicants who would like to apply for the NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship has to complete an online application and mail application hard copy materials to the university.

  1. The applicant need to click on the apply button below to complete and submit an online application;
  2. Pay the application fee of RMB 500 (approx. USD 80), non-refundable;
  3. Print and mail hard copies of application materials to the university by the deadline.

Note: No application materials and application fees will be returned regardless of admission.

Application Documents:

  2. Copy of valid passport
  3. Notarized highest diploma. Those who are currently studying must provide official document that prove their current status and expected graduation date.
  4. Academic transcript.
  5. Language requirement:
    • For English taught programs IELTS (6 or above), TOEFL (over 85)
    • For Chinese taught programs HSK5 (or above)
  6. A study plan or research proposal (min 800 words)
  7. Academic papers and academic achievement (if any for graduate applicants)
  8. 2 recommendation letters.
  9. Original or notarized copies of Foreigner Physical Examination Form and blood test reports, filled in Chinese or English;
  10. Provisional Consent Form. Graduate applicant is suggested to contact relative professors who are willing to supervise their proposed study at NJUST. ‘Provisional Consent Form’ is expected to be completed (attachment) by the professor and enclose in application documents.
  11. Certificate of guarantee, proof of the guarantor’s financial ability (mainly including statement of employment and income, certificate of bank deposit or other proof of financial ability).
