The University of Essex is offering a scholarship worth £3,500 for international students from an Africa country and are self-funding their undergraduate studies. This scholarship is paid as a discount on the first year’s tuition fee. All applications for relevant courses will automatically be considered for this award.

Eligibility:-

  • These scholarships are restricted to applicants who are classified as international students for fees purposes and are nationals of an African nation (defined as a member state of the African Union).
  • Applicants must be entirely self-funded.
  • Applicants must be starting their first year of study on a degree course at the University of Essex in 2020-21.
  • Applicants must actively make Essex their firm choice by 19 July 2020.
  • Applicants that become firm with Essex through rejection by their original firm choice selection elsewhere are not eligible.
  • Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot normally be held in conjunction with other University of Essex awards.
  • This scholarship is available for the first year of study only.
  • Students with dual nationality will only be eligible for the award if they are paying overseas fees.
  • Successful applicants should be available for promotional activities.
  • The following students are not eligible for this scholarship regardless of meeting the above criteria:
    • Students undertaking courses at East 15 Acting School.
    • Students who are fully or partly sponsored.
    • These scholarship awards do not apply to deferred entry. Where a scholarship has been awarded to a student who subsequently defers entry to the following academic year, the award will be withdrawn and the applicant will be considered again in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry.
    • Students transferring into the second year from another UK higher education institution.
    • Students with dual nationality who are not assessed as paying overseas feesز
    • Students directly continuing from one course to another (for example from Foundation degree or HND on to the final year of an honours degree).

Benefits:-

The scholarship has a value of £3,500 paid as a discount on your first year’s tuition fee.
