Nestle is looking for a talented IT Data Engineer to join the team for a 12-month contract and work with the team in Canada for 2020. 

Responsibilities: 

Service Delivery:

  1. Responsible for developing and maintaining data models for advanced analytics.
  2. Analyze data and data structures, as well as the design and build of all forms of database schemas (relational, OLAP, Big Data etc.) to support a wide range of strategies for secure data acquisition, data cleansing and blending, data storage, analysis and modeling.

Stakeholder Management:

  1. Responsible for communication of data munging needs and process steps in non-technical language.
  2. Responsible for communication of data engineering steps required to industrialize an advanced analytics model in technical language.
  3. Engage with Receivers as appropriate to ensure business understanding and receiver satisfaction.   

People:

  1. Work closely with team of experts, locally and remotely to ensure service delivery.
  2. Collaborate and share expertise with the Power BI Analyst Network to further build Nestlé capabilities 

Major Qualifications:

  1. University Degree in Applied Statistics, Mathematics and/or Computer Science.
  2. Minimum 5 years working across BIG or complex data sets in a statistical/analytical role; academic work experience may be considered/included.
  3. Experience with open source cloud-based platforms, Microsoft Azure, SAS or any other public / private cloud platforms.
  4. Expertise in working with structured data; apply methods, technologies and techniques that address data architecture, integration and governance of data.
  5. Experience in database concepts, data modelling; data integration including design and architecture.
  6. Experience with Azure Database services – SQL, MySQL, AAS.
  7. Knowledge of master data management principles and experience with data catalog applications.
  8. Expertise in working with unstructured data; ability to apply semantic correlation, ontology and text analytics techniques and systems to analyze non-structured data and identify critical insights for overall business analytics across various domains.
  9. Possess solid skills in Python, Scala, R, Java, C++, Spark (Databricks) development and a good understanding of working with Hadoop.
  10. Knowledge of Azure Compute services, uses and methodologies.
  11. Knowledge of SAP systems and technologies, including BW and HANA and Oracle Database services.
  12. Provide thought-leadership and dependable execution on diverse projects.
