If you are not more than 30, design the new European Quality Label for youth information! It will be used by youth information providers across Europe that were granted the Label for providing quality services for young people. They are looking for an attractive Label that raises the attention of young people and expresses the reliability of the information provided. Submit your design and win a GoPro camera or a smartwatch!

What is the European Quality Label for Youth Information?

There is so much information available nowadays on all kinds of platforms that sometimes it’s hard to know which information is reliable and which isn’t. If young people don’t have access to reliable information or struggle to know what’s true and what’s not, they can be misled or even harmed by the choices they subsequently make. Nowadays, there are tonnes of misleading information out there: propaganda, disinformation, fake news, hate speech, “alternative facts” – the list goes on! Identifying information that is reliable, complete, and unbiased can be a big challenge. In this context, different methods to help people, especially young people, to easily recognise trustworthy sources and to be critical about the information they read is really important.

The European Youth Information Quality Label tackles this challenge and provides a visible sign that tells young people that a certain piece of information is verified, true, and unbiased, therefore does not require further verification.

What is the contest about?

This contest is about creating and selecting the visual representation of the European Youth Information Quality Label. The label shall be a logo or icon, suitable to be displayed on youth information services and information products. It should be an easy-to-recognise and youth-friendly image that transmits the trustworthiness and reliability of the information it certifies across Europe.

In order to participate in the contest, you must be:

·      between 18 and 30 years of age

·      a citizen or resident of a member state of the Council of Europe

·      accepting the rules and conditions of the contest and the decision of the jury.

After the closing, ERYICA and its Quality Label Working Group will choose one winner and use that graphic as the logo of the European Youth Information Quality Label. Additionally, the promoters will choose one more contestant with an outstanding creation.

The winners will receive the following prizes:
