L'Art Rue Association is launching its 2021 open call for 3 months creation residencies each in Tunisia. L’Art Rue opens its workplace to support the young contemporary artistic scene from the Middle East and Africa. Since 2016, it has been developing a specific program for artistic residencies and has worked with 17 artists or artistic collective from different countries.

Conditions:-

These residencies are for young professional artists or aspiring professional artists under 35 years old.
All artistic fields are eligible.
All applicants must be artists living or native of MENA or Africa.
Candidates may apply as individuals or as a group.
All artistic projects must bare or be engaged with contextual artistic approach, that is to say projects developed for or with Tunisian context.
Applicants must aim high artistic standards.
Candidates should be fully available for a 3 months period and for the first two weeks of October 2020 to take part in an artistic exchange and thinking laboratory.
Art projects developed during the residency period will be presented to the public.

Association L’Art Rue will provide the artists with:-

A workplace.
Technical equipment available at L’ART RUE.
Expertise of l’Art Rue’s team on appointments.
Fees for the 3 months contextual creation residence.
Production costs.
Accommodation in L’Art Rue workplace in the medina of Tunis
Per diem.
A round trip for the artist from/to his/her place of residence to Tunis (upon receipt).

Timetable and Selecion:-

Deadline : June 30th2020
Period : From January to April 2021.
From October 5th to 18th: artistic thinking Laboratory between selected artists (compulsory presence).
The results of the residency program will be announced within the four weeks following the application deadline.
Once the deadline has passed, you do not receive a reply, it means that your application has not been accepted.

About L'Art Rue:-

L'Art Rue is an association based in Tunisia and provides artists or artistic collectives with the expertise, workplace, accommodation, creation fee and production costs to develop their artistic project. The target of the association is to support and develop contemporary creation, its diffusion by offering to the artist long periods of creation in Tunisian context.
