Fully Funded East Africa Emerging Advocates Training Program 2020. Moreover, the East Africa Emerging Advocates Training Programme is a 6 month (26 weeks) program hosted by The Centre for Strategic Litigation in Zanzibar. The program seeks to build the next generation of Public Interest Lawyers in the region through intensive training and internship placement.

Further, the East Africa Emerging Advocates Training Programme targets advocates from Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda and will run from February 2020 to July 2020. Also, selected candidates will spend 1-month in-residence training in Arusha, Tanzania and 4.5 months interning in an organization that handles Public Interest cases in their home country.

Benefits

For the selected candidates, The Centre for Strategic Litigation will cover:

Transportation costs to and from their countries of origin to Arusha
Accommodation and food in Arusha
A monthly allowance during the 4.5 month internship

Eligibility

The Centre for Strategic Litigation welcomes applications from candidates:

Of Kenyan, Tanzanian and Ugandan nationality
With a university degree in Law and an accreditation to the practice of Law
In practice for no more than 5 years
Have a passion to build a career in the field of human rights and practice the law of the public interest
Can fully engage in the 26-week program
