Yale University invites junior students from African nations to participate in the Yale Young African Scholars Program 2020. The Ivy League university aims to expose Africa’s brightest young leaders to various opportunities for pursuing tertiary education and to equip them with the skills to serve their communities and the world. Moreover, the Young African Scholars Program is open to all the students from the African and is free of cost.


The program offers mentorship and supports the secondary school students from Africa to emerge as Africa’s next generation of leaders and engaged citizens. In addition to that, the program aims to provide an expanded knowledge base, friendships forged with peers from around the continent, and direct access to university student mentors who will help guide them through the university admissions and financial aid application processes.

Timeline and Locations

Altogether, there will be three sessions of the program in three different times and locations

Application Procedure 

Students must apply online for the Yale Young African Scholars Program. All the candidates should also submit the official transcript or grade reports and the recommendation letter of one teacher. The last date to apply for YYAPS is February 12, 2020.
