The Seoul International Food Film Festival (SIFFF) is inviting all creative filmmakers all over the world to participate with their films and compete within the festival in the Republic of Korea. While celebrating diversity of food and lifestyle from different cultures, SIFFF also aims to provide time for relaxing and healing to rediscover the taste of life, not to mention, to raise public awareness on healthy eating and sustainable food systems.

Food Film: SIFFF has a competition for short films about food and related issues. Other sections are for classic films, Korean food films, films about food systems and sustainability, as well as for new food films from around the world.

Terms and Conditions:-

  • Period

    • Seoul International Food Film Festival will hold its sixth edition from September 9th to September 16th, 2020.

  • Programs

    • Submitted films will be considered for both the competitive and non-competitive sections.

  • Tasty Short Film Competition

    • Films completed after January 1st, 2018, not submitted to SIFFF previously.

    • Films about food and related issues regardless of genre.

    • Films shorter than 40 minutes only.

    • Films longer than 40 minutes will be considered for non-competitive sections screening.

  • Materials

    • Any materials submitted for selection will not be returned. 

    • All the costs of transportation and insurance must be fully paid by the entrant. 

    • Please note that for materials shipped from overseas, the declared value should be equivalent to the materials only (less than USD 10).

  • Language

    • Selected films will be screened in their original version. English subtitles are required for non-English and non-Korean language films.

  • Screening Copy

    • In order to facilitate the addition of Korean subtitles and to ensure a smooth screening, the format of the final screening copy may be changed.

  • Publicity

    • After official selection of a film, SIFFF is qualified to use the promotional materials submitted by the entrants and SIFFF reserves the right to use excerpts from the film, with a maximum of 3 minutes (or up to 10% of the film running time), for promotional purposes.

  • Festival Archive

    • The materials of all selected films including the provided previews and screening copies will be kept in SIFFF archive only for non-profit, educational and research purposes after the festival.

  • Agreement

    • These regulations are considered valid upon submission of the film to SIFFF. SIFFF reserves the right to make an independent decision on any matter not enumerated in the above regulations.

Awards:-

  • Best Short Film 3,000,000 KRW.
  • Jury Award 2,000,000 KRW.
  • Best Korean Short Film 2,000,000 KRW.

Seoul International Food Film Festival (SIFFF) is an event to present outstanding and thought-provoking films about food and related issues every year. SIFFF’s program includes an inspiring selection of documentaries, features and short films related to food, from the newest buzzed-about ones to classics and cults. With film screenings, a variety of events such as catered parties, cooking and tasting events, talk shows with film and culinary professionals will be held to provide delightful, multi-sensory film experience.
