HUAWEI is inviting designers from around the globe to participate in HUAWEI Theme Design Award 2020. HUAWEI celebrates exciting designers and thinkers from all over the world. Over four years, tens of thousands of the world's finest designers, animators, and creators have accepted HUAWEI's challenge.

Theme:

The theme for the 2020 contest is "Visionary Art". HUAWEI's aim is to bring together the world's foremost creative minds to explore the future of mobile aesthetics. Together,HUAWEI will investigate how it can bring commercial, aesthetic, and cultural value to over 170 countries and regions, and more than 600 million Huawei users.

Categories:

Entrants can choose from 4 categories: Themes, Wallpapers, Watch Faces, and Cities.
Enter as many categories as you like, but submit one entry per category.

Prizes:

Grand Prize (1): $20,000: $10,000 cash + $10,000 grant.

Category Winners:

  • Themes: 
  1. 1 First Prize $16,000: $6,000 cash + $10,000 grant.
  2. 2 Second Prizes $8,000: $3,000 cash + $5,000 grant.
  3. 3 Third Prizes $5,000: $2,000 cash + $3,000 grant.
  • Wallpapers:
  1. 1 First Prize $13,000: $3,000 cash + $10,000 grant.
  2. 2 Second Prizes $7,000: $2,000 cash + $5,000 grant.
  3. 3 Third Prizes $4,500: $1,500 cash + $3,000 grant.
  • Watch Faces:
  1. 1 First Prize $13,000: $3,000 cash + $10,000 grant.
  2. 2 Second Prizes $7,000: $2,000 cash + $5,000 grant.
  3. 3 Third Prizes $4,500: $1,500 cash + $3,000 grant.
  • Cities:

$6,000: $3,000 cash + $3,000 grant. (9 Cities Prizes: Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Jinan, Luoyang, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Wuhan).

Special Winners:

  • 6 Stars of Tomorrow $1,000 cash: Recognizing the best entries from students.
  • 6 International Artists $1,000 cash: Recognizing the best entries from outside China.
  • 6 Amazing Animators $1,000 cash: Recognizing the best animated entries.
  • 80 Inspirational Sparks $1,000 grant: Recognizing 20 exceptional entries from each category.

* Grants provide financial support for designers. Winners receive royalties on their creations for a full year. Entries to the Cities category will be considered for use as official case designs for future Huawei phones.

Entry Specifications:

Entries must be in .JPG format, greater than or equal to 3,000 pixels, and under 20 MB in size. Videos must be in .MP4 or .GIF format, editable, and under 20 MB in size. You can submit up to 30 entries, but each entry can only be entered for a single category.
